Cassie Raven, 25, is a technician at the Camden morgue. A bit goth, with a face adorned with piercings, death is her universe. She takes care of her “patients” and is convinced that the dead can speak, or rather, give clues about what happened to them, if we take the trouble to listen. She thought she’d seen it all until one day the corpse of Mrs. E, her former math teacher and mentor, who years before had helped her get out of drugs, squats, and trouble with the law, arrived. Apparently, an accident. Except Cassie is convinced she was killed. Trusting her instincts, suspicious of the police, she launches an investigation to find the truth.
